The Israeli Innovation Ecosystem
Israel has earned the moniker of “Startup Nation” mostly because it has the largest number of startups per capita in the world at around 1 startup for every 1,400 people.
Some of these startups have gone on to be high-profile exits. For example, Waze sold to Google for $1.3 billion; Mellanox to Nvidia for $6.9 billion and Mobileye to Intel for $15.4 billion, among many others. Just for comparison the UK has 0.21, France has 0.112 and Germany has 0.056 startups for every1,400 people.
